Berg signs MOU with PLN to progress greener energy

Berg Engineering and Indonesia’s state utility Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to transform the future of Indonesia towards green energy through advanced collaborations.

Both companies bring a depth of expertise and regional networks which will be leveraged to enhance outcomes across a variety of potential cooperation opportunities. It is envisioned that the MOU will lead to the development of innovative engineering design and services.

PLN is the biggest generation company in South East Asia.

Berg’s CEO Derek Berg said the collaboration was an exciting opportunity to bring together complimentary leaders in the transition to renewable energy.

“PLN as the largest asset base in South East Asia and Berg with its proven track record in the hydro-electric renewables sector presents a formidable team as they move into the Hydrogen space together.”

“We are delighted to enter into this new cooperation agreement with such an esteemed organisation and are excited about the opportunities it offers to Berg Engineering to progress our strategic objectives supporting inclusive growth and development in this region.”

“The MoU outlines our mutual intention to work together in addressing Indonesia’s energy challenges, in line with our shared values and goals around a circular economy, sustainable enterprise, and responsible leadership,” Mr Berg said.

“It will include joint projects and development of innovative technology or service delivery of interest and benefit to both Berg and PLN across a range of subject areas.

The signing took place today (November 1 2022) at the Energy Transition Day G20 Summit Indonesia held in Nusa Dua.
