Management Systems

Berg are a proud Queensland engineering business that has built a reputation for excellence on the back of two generations – and more than four decades – of Berg family passion. Headquartered in Brisbane and with bases in the Asia Pacific we strive to provide our clients with intelligent asset lifecycle management solutions that reduce operating costs, maximise performance and extend asset life; all the while ensuring we meet our ISO accredited quality, environmental and safety standards.

Quality

At Berg Engineering we believe that quality is not just the delivery of the end product; but rather quality impacts on, and should be managed through, every aspect of our business. This belief is what drives our business from our Management Team to our Workshop Floor, with our leadership commitment, core values and ethics guiding the manner in which we deliver our works. With all our projects we ensure that the individual works undertaken conform to the requirements of our AS/NZS ISO 9001third party accredited Quality Management System.

Safety

At Berg Engineering we believe that the health and safety of our employees, visitors and the local community in which we operate is our primary focus. We are proud of our excellent safety record built on our dedication to follow the appropriate procedures set down in our Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Policy.

Our Safety Management System is 3rd Party accredited against AS NZS 4801and OHS 18001 and is underpinned by the belief that the well-being of our employees, or those people affected by our work, is a paramount consideration. Our people are our most important asset and their health and safety is our greatest responsibility.

We are committed to providing safe systems of work and a safe working environment and as such Bergs’ responsibility towards Workplace Health and Safety is:

  • Demonstrate commitment and leadership through all of our Managers and Supervisors;
  • Clearly define Health and Safety responsibilities for Managers, Supervisors, Employees and
  • Contractors;
  • Work to eliminate hazards and practices that could cause incidents, injuries and illnesses;
  • Utilise the framework of AS NZS 4801 and OHS 18001 Management Systems whenever possible to integrate health and safety into Business Management Systems and to achieve the highest standards of health and safety;
  • Comply with all applicable health and safety acts and regulations as a minimum;
  • Train and develop our employees to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to work safely and to contribute to ongoing improvements in safety performance;
  • Allocate resources to meet the commitments of our Safety Management System.

Environmental

Environmental awareness in our Workshops has become an integral part of Bergs’ everyday business planning and we are committed to achieving excellence in environmental management and compliance. To that extent our Environmental Management System has been third party accredited against AS/NZS ISO 14001.

We also continue to seek out new and innovative ways to minimise negative environmental impacts within our Workshops, enabling us to reduce our carbon footprint and enhance environmental sustainability.

This commitment to sustainability extends to our service offerings, with Berg implementing our Asset Optimisation Program to develop new and innovative ways for our clients to increase the lifecycle of their existing assets. To learn more about our Asset Optimisation Program click here.
