Asset Optimisation Program
Asset Optimisation Program
The Asset Optimisation Program (AOP) is a unique program that facilitates the end-to-end management of agreed rotable asset classes. It is specifically designed to maximise equipment performance and reliability as a means to reduce operating and repair costs.
PRECISION. IT’S A BERG THING.
In the last financial year alone, Berg has worked with clients to achieve reduced operating costs of up to 19% by employing our tailored AOP. This unique program facilitates the end-to-end management of agreed rotable asset classes. Cost reduction targets are established and agreed at the outset of the program and then assessed quarterly.
Immediate cost savings are delivered through competitive pricing while still meeting or exceeding warranty and design criteria. Additional savings are achieved as Berg gains information about the service life of asset parts as they rotate through our facility. From the information gleaned, innovations can be explored to further optimise service life and reduce operating costs.
Because the AOP is modular, the program can be implemented and applied to a discrete piece of equipment, before being expanded to include additional assets upon meeting agreed targets. In our experience, proving the AOP’s value-adding capability with a single asset class is the best way to quickly build our clients’ confidence, at minimal perceived risk.
Based on previous applications of our AOP, cost savings in the realm of 10-15% (on consumable and simple items) can be expected. These savings may increase to as much as 20-30% on difficult and complex spares like castings, gears, and pump impellers. Further still, savings are achieved by streamlining inventory management and warehouse functions.
