Berg Earns Top Industry Certification

Berg Engineering has cemented its place as a leader in welding with its latest industry certification.

Berg specialises in engineering services, machining and welding and is now proud to announce it has successfully achieved certification to ISO 3834, meeting the highest level part 2 (Comprehensive).

ISO 3834 is an internationally recognised quality standard for welding metallic materials by fabricators, manufacturers, constructors, and maintainers. Certification means that welding integrity is assured though out the entire manufacturing process.   Berg CEO Derek Berg said to achieve this qualification was endorsement that his company was operating at the highest industry standards for quality and best practice.“Achieving ISO 3834 Certification demonstrates how seriously Berg takes safety and quality across our projects.

“This certification assures weld quality to mitigate client risk and increase business productivity and shows that Australia can still compete at the highest international level without losing jobs or compromising quality,” Mr Berg said.

Berg was extensively examined on its ability to carry out fusion welding of metallic materials to be awarded ISO 3834-2, by Weld Australia, Australia’s only International Institute of Welding accredited certifier.

In a marketplace facing an emerging skills shortage, Mr Berg said he was proud to be at the forefront of an award winning company recruiting staff with the knowledge and expertise to be able to keep critical projects from being produced offshore.

“Our goal is to educate the marketplace on why it is important not to turn their back on the local industry.

“The outcome is that our customers can have the utmost confidence that the products we deliver are of the highest standard and quality.

“We are a company that can be trusted to deliver proficient and quality welding projects to the highest standard required.”

Prime contractors involved in Australian defence shipbuilding and land systems projects are increasingly requiring ISO 3834 certification as a minimum for companies wishing to work within their global supply chain.

Additionally, this qualification will become the benchmark certification for many future large-scale Australian infrastructure and rail projects.

Berg has also successfully completed several other industry certifications including:

  • ISO 14001: 2015 Environmental Management Systems
  • ISO 9001: 2015 Quality Management Systems
  • ISO 45001: 2018 Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems
