Berg’s state-of-the-art Titan SC 40/50-4HY Double Column Vertical Boring & Turning Mill’s 14,000km journey from Germany to Gladstone is almost complete!

With the multi-million-dollar Titan measuring an impressive 17m x 11m x 10m when assembled, disassembling and shipping the machine required precise logistical management with the smaller components being packed in containers in Hamburg while the chuck and right-hand column were shipped as break bulk cargo ex Bremerhaven as they are too big to transport via containers.

In total, the items were packed onto three different ships, all of which are now finalising their 8-10 week journey that should see them arrive in Queensland any day now.

Meanwhile as the Titan makes its way from Germany, works are well underway at our Gladstone Workshop on the construction of our new purpose built facility that will house the new machine.

Be sure to follow Berg Engineering on our Facebook ( or LinkedIn ( pages for further updates or contact our Gladstone office directly to discuss how our new Double Column Vertical Boring & Turning Mill will help your business.
