Thursday 20th February saw Berg Engineering host an Open Day at our Gladstone Workshop facility. The day was a great success with representatives from major Gladstone Industry and surrounding in attendance, as well as Government officials and Berg Engineering clients, suppliers and partners from a wide variety of industries.

It was a fantastic day including a robust panel discussion with leading industry experts and of course the unveiling of our new state-of-the-art Titan SC 40/50-4HY Double Column Vertical Boring & Turning Mill. This new machine, thought to be Queensland’s largest machine of its kind, will position Berg Engineering to capitalise on new opportunities with existing and prospective customers.

The Titan measures an impressive 17m x 11m x 10m and has a 5m swing diameter and 41 tonne Lathe Chuck. It also has a controlled C-axis and a pusher for turning tool holders and one for mounting SK 50 boring and milling tool holders; with each side equipped with a 12-unit tool magazine. The machine is housed in Bergs’ purpose-built new facility which includes 50t overhead crane and 20m height under crane.

If you are keen to see the Titan in action or tour either our Gladstone or Brisbane Workshop facilities, please do not hesitate to contact Dan Whitmore at dwhitmore@bergengineering.com.au or Shannon Jansen at sjansen@bergengineering.com.au.
